The Drums…

…sound just like how I imagine bands from america to sound like.  It makes me happy

Festival Sell Outs

I am shocked (although I suppose it is not that shocking) that Glastonbury 2010 has sold out.  I know there will be tickets released later on but for me and my friends it seems a bit like the end of an era.  I think 2010 is the year for me to try some newer festivals and have some different experiences but glastonbury has been a bit of a tradition for me since the first one I went to when I was 15.

Who knows, maybe in a few years we will have a Different Class Radio festival to look forward to…and if we did, who would you like to see on the line up?

The new site. . . .

Ok, ok I have been knocking on about it for sometime but we are almost there, the website is currently hanging in cyberjib waiting for the finishing touches to be made so it can go live. It’s got handy things that make websites tick but if there is anything you think we need just let me know as it’s all about the listener, liam@differentclassradio.co.uk.

Hope to see you on the 30th for 1st Birthday fun.

Enjoy,

Liam

Cigarette Burns Cinema

First up Different Class Radio is one year old!

Have a look at the 1st Birthday post for information about our party to celebrate this achievement. In case you’re too lazy to do that the basics are: 30 October, Pangea Project, Stoke Newington, live music and DJs, and it’s all free.

Now for one of my infrequent posts. Following on from my last one this is another recommnedation for things to do and see in London.

Every month at the Mucky Pup pub in Islington Cigarette Burns hold a free film night showing weird, wonderful and sometimes hilariously bad films that you most likely have never heard of. As well as a main feature they show shorts and have a raffle where you can win a year’s membership to the Rio cinema in Dalston.

What drew my attention to the night was their screening of Turkey Shoot and the trailer for it they put up on their blog. It’s a ridiculous and often tasteless Ozploitation flick, you kind of have to see it to believe it. I’ve posted the trailer below for everyone to enjoy.

Check out their night for one of the best movie experiences around in the capital. They dredge through the bottom of the barrel of cinema so you don’t have to.
