”I don’t set out to dazzle the world with my ‘versatality’.I just have some things in me that need to come out. If you only like one kind of music, sorry but life’s too short. Every record i’ve ever put out has been met with some torrent of angry fan mail because it wasn’t what they expected. If you want what you expect, why not make your own album then? I’m just trying to make mine, and it’s probably not what you’re expecting. i’m glad we had this little talk.”

”Why does forward thinking matter?” This question goes round and round, maybe not in the same words but it resonates on so many levels, and those levels i’m not prepared to get into presently, the music i am……………………………….
I wish i was articulate enough to rush out some bullet points explaining the rights and wrongs of ‘good music’, fact is im not. What i do know is when something musically hits me, its hits you in the gut and the back of the mind, and its not involved with money or hype.
Money and hype are two of the less attractive features of the music industry and whenever they become a big part of the music itself invariably the proof is not in the product. With commercial radio stations and the major record labels; they are a business and they have to make money, so independant and major/commercial parties are two entirely different things, working to completely opposite ends: the majors for money and the indies for art.
For alot of us, particularly if your reading this; one of the most exciting things is when you hear something you havn’t heard before; a truly original concept, sound or movement, thats the human touch and we are all afterall…………………………………………….Hal ?
Forward thinking matters because to do, hear, or feel something truly truly ‘new’ is freedom
