View from a carpark

You may have noticed but DCR can be a little London-centric, in fact to be specific it can be more than a little North London-centric.

So I thought I’d try and readdress the balance to the south slightly (can’t do much about the London bit though).

If you have a spare evening up until the end of September head down to Peckham, find the Peckham Cinema and make your way to the top of the 10 floor carpark above it. The lifts feel like they are going to drop at any second and there are no lights on the stairs but believe me it is worth it.

At the top is temporary bar, Frank’s Cafe, open from 11am to 10pm every Thursday to Sunday until 30 September. There are also artworks and large sculptures dotted around. But the most impressive thing is the view of the city spanning the horizon. Once you’re up there you won’t be able take your eyes off it. You can watch the sun set and as night falls the lights in the buildings glow.

Sorry this doesn’t have much to do with music, althought I think they do have a jazz band up there occasionally, but after seeing it for myself I had to share.

Frank's Cafe

Of course if you are still bored and stuck in North London get yourself over to the Introducing show at Barden’s Boudoir on 20 August organised by Different Class Radio. You can get tickets here.
