Lady Gaga – sorry but I don’t get it.  Unable to log onto myspace without hitting her fucking drop down banner advert, you can imagine I had high expectations.  So I decided to have a listen to her myspace page.  To make sure I was ready to be blown away, I got myself ready, had a shower, put my bestest electro t-shirt on, tucked my jeans into my high tops and got myself comfortable in my favourite listening chair.  Having finally checked her out I can confirm she is utter toss.

It never fails to amaze me how record labels get a production team to produce some average electro/hip pop beats, hire someone to sing over the top, give them a cool image and then introduce this ‘artist’ as new young ‘talent’.  I can’t say I blame them because the general public fall for the same trick time after time.

Gaga’s PR team are doing a fine job touting her as this cool new alternative girl whilst she is anything but.  A friend compared her to Katy Perry but at least Perry doesn’t make out to be something she’s not.  Actually, Perry has better tunes too – I Kissed a Girl certainly was catchy, which is more than I can say for most of Gaga’s utterly forgetable songs.

It interested me to find out that Lets Dance was co-written with none other than slick RnB popster ‘Akon’.  Sorry love but when you’ve got Akon writing your tunes you need to have a serious word with yourself (and perhaps your label?).  Most of Gaga’s tracks have been written by Pop production whizz ‘Red One’ – nothing wrong with that except Gaga’s myspace is claiming ‘words and music by Lady Gaga’.  The scamps.

I’m not going to go on and on about it but her video just came on tv and she inspired me to get writing.  I’ll leave you with some of Lady G’s most poetic lyrics.  Something to ponder over during your day and unlock the depths of your soul…
